Mission: Collage is a group of students seeking to develop an architectural resolution for the rejuvenation and revitalization of the H Street corridor through the use of spatial, theoretical and contextual reasoning. With an understanding of the multiple layers that exist within the H street corridor, we will collage the social, economic, and cultural aspects of the community. We will propose an architectural solution that responds to their needs in such a way that is sensitive to the environment and the economic needs of the community. We will create a node of transportation that will enable the interaction of the multiple social groups present in the community adding cultural and economic value. A dual-mode transportation center will mitigate pre-existing congestion and allow for more movement within the corridor. The designed node will commingle people from other areas of the region with the community adding to the richness of the H street corridor by allowing for a diverse experience of the arts, entertainment and retail within the corridor. |
